Temples, from a template?

I don’t know much about temple architecture, but to me, Korean and Chinese temples share similar if not the same features. In my observations I can say that the roofing and in particular the eaves are almost the same, leading to me supericial similarities in Korean and Chinese temples. The effect of culture influencing the overall design?

Along the same lines of design I have here a photo of Namdae mun, in it’s former glory. Notice how the eaves are also similarly angled. Sadly it was burnt down soon after by a disturbed 70 year old Korean man.

The last photograph to the right, was taken literally on the fly. With the lights about to go green, I had only time to sprint across and fire off two hastily framed photos. With such unexpected results I burst out laughing when I viewed the playback.
